Job Title:                                 DZ Truck Driver

Vehicle to be Operated:       5-Ton Dump Truck / Tri-Axle Stone Slinger

Location:                                Cambridge

Job Duration:                         Full Time Seasonal Employment

We are looking for a professional, reliable, safety-conscious truck driver with a positive attitude and strong customer service focus. This person will be responsible for the delivery of Cambridge Garden Centre products and services to customers in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas.

Main duties/Responsibilities:

• Safety of public, fellow workers, equipment, truck and load
• Service of truck: oil, fuel, etc.
• Daily maintenance of truck: lights, grease, interior cleanliness, etc.,
• Yard duties: load and unload trucks, and other general yard requirements
• Complete and submit paper work daily: delivery slips, run logs, etc.
• Maintain efficient run times and fuel economy
• May be expected to plant the occasional tree

Necessary qualifications/Job Requirements:

• Minimum DZ Class licence
• Clean CVOR and driver’s abstract
• Flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends during the peak season
• A bone fide requirement of this position is to be able to lift up to 100 pounds at any point during the work shift
• Ability to work under pressure

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years experience working as a DZ or AZ truck driver
• Slinger operator
• Familiar with the streets in the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas (Asset)
